NEED HELP WITH 'SHAPE NECK'

lilhatshack

Question

I'm making a pattern - its here and it says 'shape neck'. What does that mean generally speaking - because as you can see in the photo there is a huge collar. I'm just not sure what that means? Any help would be so appreciated! Thanks!

The sentence right after Shape Neck tells you what to do. Might have been more clear if they wrote it with a colon, like this: "Shape Neck: Keeping to color and pattern, work over 2 pattern reps from armhole edge, leaving 1 pattern rep at neck edge unworked." Further down in the pattern, they tell you how to make the collar.

Are you kidding me? I thought they were two totally different things! How embarrassing! :bang - i've been fretting over this since last night. Okay - that will work - now it all makes sense. I'll post a pic of the sweater after I complete it - i'm doing it in wool-ease chunky walnut with some terracotta chenille and peacock. Its for my moms 60th birthday next weekend! Thanks - you are a tremendous help as always!:cheer2
