blogspot.com is also pretty nifty. I'm about to redo my blog to focus more on my love of crocheting and how it helps me with my life.

Dreamwidth is another new possibility. It's very much like LiveJournal; in fact, it was based on the same code. They both seemed too journal-y to me though. I like Google's blogspot.com better. I moved all my blog posts from everywhere to them.
