Picking your brains

Hi, I'm considering making this backpack: http://www.susannawinter.net/knitting/backpack.html

 

I'd like to felt it. I've felted a couple of things but I'm no expert on it. The hobo bag pattern I expanded and felted turned out great. But I am unsure how this particular bag pattern would turn out with all the different pieces. Plus it's already made with a size K hook, so I'm thinking I'd have to go up to an N in order to make it big enough to felt down to about the same size as the pattern. WHat are your thoughts on how I should approach this?

i think you should jump right in .. whats the worst thing that is going to happen ..?? its smaller than what you originally wanted? would that be a total tragedy ? if so make it a little larger .. and if not jsut jump righ tin with a bigger hook.. I would say N or even P maybe depending on the yarn choice..
