Crewel Yarn

Have you ever tried crocheting with it? I got some in a grab bag in a thrift store and I was just wondering??

I never have, but I don't see why you can't use it to add texture. The only disadvantage I see is that most comes in fairly short lengths, and I dislike working ends in.

I was thinking that maybe it could be used in filet crochet, single stranded, of course. I was wondering about all the ends, myself.

 

I don't really mind working in ends, though.
