Crocheted Top in Resident Evil Movie

I was watching the new Resident Evil CGI movie with my husband (he has a love of zombie movies, and I love him, so we watch them, you know?) last night and I immediately jumped up and pointed out that the little girl was wearing a cute granny square top. The movie is CGI instead of live action, and I don't know if they were specifically going for crochet, but it's definitely granny squares. I'm going to have to see if I can replicate something like that for my four year old sister. I had a hard time getting a screenshot (finally found a trailer online), but the top was sleveless with a scooped neck and stopped at the tops of her legs. It was meant to be worn over another shirt.
