Poncho yarn

Hi,

I want to make my granddaughter A martha coming home poncho. I wasn't sure if I wanted to use the homespun yarn to make it. Has anyone made it with another yarn and if so how did it turn out? Thanks

I've made this poncho using Colorwaves, which is another bulky yarn. Have also made it using red heart super saver. For the super saver poncho, used a size K hook and had to increase the stitch count on the begining row/round by 25%, also made a few extra rounds/rows in the body. It turned out just great. If you don't like homespun, and don't want to bother doing the math involved in changing yarn weight and hook size, another bulky weight yarn should work out fine.
