baby onsie??

Dani

Question

uggghh those html comments not allowed thing are driving me batty *grin*

Ok, here's my question.

I'm working on this pattern .bevscountrycottage.com/onesie-robin. (add html after the dot)

I'm at the button hole band:

Buttonhole Band: With right side facing, attach yarn at left front bottom corner and work 1 row Sc across lefy front edge to neck; turn

Buttonhole Row: Ch 1, Sc in first Sc (Ch 2, skip 1 Sc, Sc in next Sc), repeat to end, Sc in remaing Sc to end of bottom edge, turn.

Next Row: Ch1, (Sc in ea Sc to one Sc before Ch 2 sp, skip sc before sp, 2 Sc in sp), repeat to top, 2 Sc in last Sc; now Sc in ea around neck edge, 2 Sc in corner, Sc

across Button Band to bottom edge, fasten off.

Finishing: Sew buttons to match buttonholes, sew one button on ea side of bottom front (for front diaper flap)

I'm at "attach yarn at left front bottom corner and work 1 row Sc across lefy(??) front edge to neck: turn"

so don't go around the back of the neck??

any help on getting these last few pieces of instructions would be so wonderful!!!!

Thanks

I'm not at all familiar with the term "lefy", perhaps it is a typo and it supposed to be the word "left"? It certainly makes more sense if the word is "left". Have you tried to email the designer to see if she can explain it better? Her email is linked at the top of the page. Since that portion of the pattern specifies for the 'button band' I would imagine you would not go around the neck.

thank you so much Julie, ok silly silly question...what is a button band? I'm thinking the space where the button will go into once I attach a button to the other side??

I will try sending the designer an email to ask her a few questions too.

Thanks again <img border=0 src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v84/crochetville/morningcoffee.gif" />

Dani, I don't know if you've figured it all out yet, but the button band is the edging on one side where the buttons are sewn on and the buttonhole band is the edging on the other side where the buttonholes are made. The instructions are telling you to start the button band at the top right corner and crochet down, and to start the buttonhole band at the left side's bottom corner and crochet up stopping at the beginning of the neck. Neither band gets carried around the neck. If you read ahead in the directions you will later single crochet all around from the bottom corner of one side, around the neck to the bottom corner of the other side to finish it off.
