Increasing pattern size

pjmajewski

Question

I'd like to crochet a shell using Choo-Choo yarn. The pattern I have has a finished size of a 34 inch bust. I'd like to increase this pattern to a finished size of a 38 inch bust. Any idea how I go about increasing the pattern?

Using the pattern's guage, work out how many stitches/shells per inch and then increase the pattern no of stitches x 4". Be sure to work the guage square to ensure that your guage matches. If your guage square does not measure the same as the pattern's guage then just work the same math, number of shells/stitches per inch and increase x 4". The important thing is that you work the guage square.
