Embroidery butterfly / flower patterns for an afghan?

Hi All

Not sure if this is the right area to post but here goes.....

I'm making an afghan from one of Vanna's books (it's cream, med blue, dark blue stripes) and would like to embroider some butterflies or flowers on it. It will be seen from both sides.

 

Can anyone point me in the right direction??? Don't really know where to start with this one.....

Do you mean cross stitch or embroidery? How do you make it show on both sides? My embroidery skills are not that great so mine always was a mess in the back. Cross stitch probably does look the same front and back.

 

You can always do a search for cross stitch patterns, there are a bunch of free ones online. I have seen some nice ones for butterflies but I didn't keep the links. I would imagine there are probably a lot of free embroidery patterns as well.

Yeah, I think it may be difficult to get the image to show on both sides. I'll have a look for x stitch patterns as well.
