On Modern Marvels

So last night my DH was watching the history channel while I was crocheting. They were playing Modern Marvels, George Washington Carver Tech...and they showed pics of him crocheting!!! Said he learned it as a young man, and showed pictures of him with what looked like a long wooded hook.

 

After that I had to watch the whole thing, what an interesting man!!!

I wondered if anyone else saw that! I never knew he was such a cool guy--they always talk about what he did, but not about *him* and how artistic he was.

The museum in Diamond Missouri actually has a bit of crochet that I think they say he made. It's very detailed and intricate, considering that I doubt he had a pattern.
