Can you help figure out what I did?

Bobbie Faye

Question

In December I crocheted a "fetal demise pouch" using a pattern from the afghans4angels' web site. The pattern calls for ribbon "ties" but I didn't want to use ribbon. I wanted more of a "cord" or drawstring.

I started off making a chain of Double Love Knots, using 2 strands of Sport weight yarn. The Love Knot chain wasn't quite "substantial" enough. I know that I came to the end of the chain and then doubled back in the other direction, using another stitch... but now I can't reproduce what I did.:shrug

The cord I wound up with is rounded and about the width of a pencil.. and it's really nice. This is so frustrating! I've visited stitchguide.com and Googled for "crocheted drawstrings" or "cords", etc... But no luck.

If you have any ideas, I would be so grateful for the help. Maybe I've invented a new stitch!

You don't by chance have an Icord maker, do you??? If so, maybe you used it?
