Tunisian crochet shoe bag

Here are a couple photos of the bag I made to hold DD's slippers.

 

 

 

I used the pattern for the Child's Shoe Bag in the Coats and Clarke Crochet Made Easy booklet.

 

I used the same yarn as for the slippers, but the teal shade appears different because the lighting wasn't as good today...too cloudy. If I make another, I think Cottonease or Sugar 'n Creme yarn might make a sturdier bag. I made drawstring by making I-Cord for the 1st time. Tried using a knitting knobby, but it was taking too long. Decided to use needles. The pattern called for twisted cord which I may try another time.

I have that book. I bought it when I was just learning how to crochet. It came in handy. I wanted to make that bag but I still don't know how to do tunisian crochet.

Thanks for the compliments. I really enjoyed making the bag and hope to make others using cotton and possibly No. 5 or 3 thread. It certainly was an inspiring project. The bag isn't ONLY for shoes. Might solve some other gift wrapping problems.
