Thread/hook question

What is the largest size hook you have used with size 10 thread?? I usually use a size 7 but I want this very drapey........ I am going to try a 3 is that large enough??

I've used a 5 with size #10 thread and it's a bit looser than a 7. Depending on how tight you crochet, a 3 could be pretty loopy. I'd do a test swatch (much as I hate doing them) to test the effect. Remember also that the "stiffness" of the thread will affect the drape almost as much as the size of the hook.
