I need help changing colors!!!!

OK, so I'm making a small project that asks me to change colors in the middle of the row. This is the first time I've attempted this, and I'm afraid I'm doing it horribly wrong. There is a gap between my colors, and I don't know how to fix it. I'm sorry there are no pictures.......the batteries in my camera died.
