Collared Poncho in Crochet World April 2007

Has anyone made this Poncho? It's gorgeous and I'd love to make it, but I just can't seem to follow the pattern. I taught myself to crochet in March, so things that make sense to others still have me boggled. I'm not experienced enough to figure some of these stitches out. I did figure out the stitches up to Row 5, but then it says to repeat for 5. Well, I'm doing what I imagine to be correct, and it's just not looking right. It's seems like there is a direction missing. Has anyone else had a problem with this? I'd appreciate any help at all.

If you could post more info, we may be able to help you.

 

It would appear that up to row 5 you are doing something different on each row then row 5 gets repeated for the rest of the poncho.

 

What sort of stitch are you doing?
