Graphgan color changes

Recommended Posts

When i change colors in a project I typically do the Russian Join...but somehow I think that would be hard to do with a graphghan and I found a pattern I really want to try but I think that when you're doing frequent color changes the russian join may not work as easily.

I agree, the Russian Join would be nearly impossible.

I finish off the last stitch in the old color with the new color. Then (assuming you'll be picking the old color up in the next row), I don't fasten off the old color. It's already there for the new row.

I have a question. What if you don't need the color for a few or more rows. Do you carry it under your stitches, finish it off, or carry it on the side?

You can go to this page at my site for help with color changes/adding colors:

or for tutorial links, try this page at my site:

The Russian joining method works great for use in areas where it's just one color. :)

the pattern that I found, that I want to do...the person constructed the graph and counted the stitches. apparently the pattern can be done in afghan stitch or SC. It says to reverse every other row for the turning of the afghan...that makes sense right? I'm so afraid it's not going to work out right. Now to decide what yarn to use. I would like to use RH SS because its the easiest to work, but its been bothering my hands as of late....and if this Ghan works out I might be in it for the long haul...Caron perfect match isn't bad...simply soft is too soft and thin...I want to be able to hide my mistakes. I'm so nervous about this...I guess I should just buy the yarn and stop fretting.
