difficulty in understanding this way to decrease

Serendipitycrafter

Question

Hi ..I'm working on Megan's pattern for her rosy cosy tea cosy.

http://megan.kiwi.gen.nz/RosyCosy/

I am at the point where I am adding the red under the second set of leaves.

I am having trouble understanding what I should do in the red font.

Am I supposed to sc dec and hdc dec over the same 2 sts?

And if so ...how the heck do I do that???

Round 12:

Using Colour A: Joining in centre st at leaf tip do 2 sc,

* sc and hdc dec over next 2 sts (the first st is a sc and the second st is a hdc),

4 dc dec over next 5 sts (by skipping the middle st),

hdc and sc dec over next 2 sts, 3 sc in next st. Repeat from * to top of last leaf but end with 2 sc rather than 3 sc. Turn.

Thanks for any help you can offer me :manyheart

I know I can help with this, as I have just learnt this way the other week

the pattern I am working on was for a double crochet and single crochet decrease.. But yours is pretty much the same

It asks for you to do a sc and then HDC

First put hook in the next stitch and then yarn over and pull through (2 loops on hook), then you will yarn over again to commence the hdc, hook into the 2nd stitch, yarn over again and pull through (4 Loops on hook), to finish the decrease yarn over once more and pull through the 4 loops on the hook. Decrease complete.

Hope this helps, let me know and I will post step by step photos if you need
