question about stitches

just wanting to know if i reading this right. it's a pattern for an easter egg. the pattern goes like this:

rnd1: ch2, 6 sc in the 2ndch from hook. (this i understand)

rnd2: (1 sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc) 3 times (9sc) this is what i want to make sure i understand.

 

is it saying that I sc in the next sc once then 2 sc in the next sc then repeat this pattern for 3 times?

ps. what do you use to mark each rnd?

to my knowledge that is exactly what it means.

 

I use standard stitch markers, but some people use contrasting bits of yarn

Yep, that's what it means. Do that 3 times total (9 stitches). I use stitch markers but you could use a piece of yarn, a bobby pin, just about anything that will go around the stitch.

thanks alot for the help. i can't crochet for long periods so i thought i would try this small project. you guys are so helpful.
