Help with ripple pattern

lola4525

Question

Hi all,

I am making my first rippled afghan. Actually I have finished the afghan. My problem is, one end looks different from the other. Is this normal or is there something wrong with the way I worked the pattern. Any help will be greatly appriciated. Thanks

:think Do you mean the Ripples?

At one end you have the Zig and the other you have the Zag.

You have done nothing wrong, in fact, if you had both ends the same, you would have a miracle.

Have fun.

I mean the ripple pattern looks different. In other words when I fold it end to end it does not match. Is this normal? Thanks Colleen.

:cheer It sure is the way it should be.:cheer

As long as it is the same width top and bottom.

When you put the ends together, you will see that the ripples are exactly opposite each other so the peaks will show opposite each valley.

If you fold it with the sides together, it will match.

Have fun.

PS Here is a picture of a wee sample of a simple ripple. Imagine if you folded that end to end, even though it is only 2 rows. Each valley becomes a peak and each peak becomes a valley. Have I confused you completely? Hope not.
