Too nice to frog?

Recently I went by a local charity shop and picked up some sweaters to frog. I found a simply gorgeous lacy aubergine top with some stunning complex motifs made in rayon. If it fit me, I'd be wearing it now. Instead it waits for me in a sack at home as I decide what to do with it.

 

I couldn't leave the top to languish there in the charity shop, but now I think it's too nice to frog.

 

Has anyone else had this happen to them? What have you done in similar situations?

What about somehow cutting out the motif you like and then crocheting around it? Umm...or stitching the motif on a t-shirt or nice cardigan? I love to save the parts and pieces of clothing when I can't use the whole thing (stains, holes, etc.) and then putting it on a new item as an "applique". Let us know what you do!!

I bought this sweater to frog - it's in my favorite shade of blue, and it's this really comfy nylon yarn... VERY soft. Turns out, the sweater fits me, so it didn't get frogged after all, and I wear it all the time!
