I recently visited some yarn shops in Baltimore and was pleased not only with what I saw but also how pleasant the proprietors were.

(I guess I had gotten nervous by some of the comments about snobby or non crochet friendly places. OK so there were not a lot of crochet books or hooks to be seen but the yarns were so lovely. And the people were so helpful
