Blocking/starching help????!!!!!

need some help here.... I'm new to making these but now i have some questions.... if you give dolies as gifts, do they need to be blocked or startched or anything like that.... i'm just looking for how other people give them as gifts...does that make sense???

I always starch and block my doilies, weather I give them as gifts or keep them for myself. When giving as gifts, they look nicer when already starched and blocked, especially if the person receiving them does not know how to do it themselves. I also perfer liquid starch over spray starch as the liquid doesn't leave the white flakes that spray starch seems to leave when I try using it.

When I give the doily as a gift, I put it in a box. I put tissue paper on both sides of the doily and lightly fold it to fit the box. The tissue paper helps to keep creases out of the doily.

I never block / starch my doilies, I only iron them from the opposite site of by covering very fine cotton cloth.
