Do stitches on Panels have to run the same way?

Hello everyone, I have felted purses before but never one that had such large sides and a bottom. They are usually just two panels sewn together without any side and bottom panels. I made a pretty large purse with side panels about 20 stitches wide. My bottom, front, and back sides all have my stitches running in a vertical line, but on my sides the stitches run horizontal. Is this going to mess up the shape of my purse? Are the stitches that run vertical going to felt more than the horizontal or vice versa? Thank you, hopefully it turns out!

It's not really going to matter. Just remember that after felting you will be streatching and blocking into shape. I really haven't had pieces shrink more in one direction over another. I have had different brands of wool shrink differently.
