need help with covering crochet knots

I recently made an Ohio State afghan from graph *1st time* and i made knots all around the letter *O* and I was trying to think of a crochet stich to cover it up and a single crochet wont do it. also tried an embroidery needle and whip stitching it. still dont look good. Can ANYONE help me????

I have no idea of a st that would cover it. Could you get a wide cloth ribbon the same color and weave in and out?

Try to see if you could gently maneuver the knots to the opposite side of the blanket...Then, you could sew a piece of red fleece to the back side for extra warmth in this cold Ohio weather. Btw, GO BUCKS!! Do you have pics you could show us?
