Straightening kinky yarn?

I unraveled an old sweater for the yarn. Its cotton yarn and its very kinky. How do I get it to straighten out?

Stretch it out over a hanger and have in the bathroom while you take a warm shower. the steam should do the trick.

Maybe try the "washing it in pantyhose" trick?

If the steam in the shower doesn't do the trick just spray it with water and let it dry while it hangs. Actually I never really worry about the kinks. I just roll it back up and re-use it. It always looks ok when re-crocheted.
