S hook crochet

Hi! I bought an "S" hook from Bill Schmidt at www.turn-of-the-century.com. (I have no connection with him except as a very satisfied customer.) He turns all sizes of hooks and knitting needles on a lathe. Made of wood, they feel so warm and comfortable.

I've worked with some of the sizes I bought but not the "S" yet. I bought it because I thought there would be a time that I would want to make something in a hurry and this size would do nicely for that.

Blessings, bk

Hi BK..........

Thanks for the information on the S-hook. BTW, I was looking at the patterns on the lionbrand website today, and there was a cute crochet hat pattern which required an S-hook. It looked easy and appeared to work up very quickly.

Thanks again,

Juli from TX

I have the Lion brand hook and I do not like it. It is too tapered at the hook end, and works up more like a Q hook, very angular shape. I recently bought an Addi hook in S at my LYS and it is great. I love it, and would never use the Lion one again.
