LB homespun mittens

Has anyone used the Lion Brand "family of mittens" patterns that uses Homespun? I just bought some and was looking at the pattern and I"m not used to making mittens like the pattern says...I'm used to doing the cuff and then going in rounds from the cuff on down to the fingers. Any tips or pros and cons for this pattern from LB or is there a better pattern to make mittens using homespun??? Thanks, Dar

HEy!

Never made a mitten before or even attempted it, but I have gotten as far as the top of the shaping where you're supposed to us a tapestry needle to pull the top together(or something like that) but I can't find my tapestry needles, so there it lays. I've read thru the rest of the pattern a few times and it doesn't seem as difficult as I thought at first, but I could be WAY off base. I've moved on to other things for now!
