Granny Square

mc_crochets

Question

I'm looking for hunting themed granny squares...something with perhaps a deer, or duck or something like that to start my sons blanket out with,, a friend suggested using a filet crochet grid, but that is just a tid bit complicated for me!! I'll be using red heart super saver yarn, in camo which is a multi color yarn (for anyone who hasn't seen it yet) and doing the border probally in bright hunter orange if i can find some. I am pretty much still new at crocheting, i have down the basic sc, dc, tr (treble crochet?) and of course the chain LOL I am willing to try any pattern as long as any special stitches are explained to me LOL

mmouseplus.gifGranny squares are pretty much done in rounds, so I think it might be hard to make that complicated of picture in a granny square.

How about a square done in rows? Would that work? Any cross stitch motif can be done in sc and by changing colors you can make a picture in it. That's how all the charted afghans are done.

With that said, I did go searching and found this Moose that might work. And here are some charted ones done with afghan (tunisian) stitch.
