Closures for Eyeglass Holders

Well, well, well, my first question....started making eyeglass holders....Pattern calls for sewed on buttons...tried a few...hated the look. Tried velcro....sticky back (ended up sewing them on) glueing velcro on...still had to sew them...looked hideous....so I am in dire need of help! Any suggestions are appreciated (patterns included) perhaps crocheted button etc....Thanks in advance....

Oh- These are cool and may be perfect for you! They're magnetic closures that you can sew on. You'll have to google for the best deal. These are sew-on - there are some that sort of punch through the project, too.

You can look at Crochet Pattern Central. Once I saw some button cover patterns there.

 

I don't know what kind of button you used for your case. If you every try a real button again, I think shank buttons (the kind without the holes showing) look better and using a tiny piece of interfacing on the back side of the crocheted "fabric" helps a lot.

I agree with CraftyShannon.

With shank buttons...you can find them in the size you need to fit through the stitches without having to make a buttonhole.
