Size Question

I have acquired a few bags of random threads from yard sales, and am trying to use some of it for some projects I want to work on. One necklace pattern calls for crochet cotton size 5. I am trying to find something of equivalent size. I have here a ball of J&P Coats Speed-Cro-Sheen. I don't know much about thread sizing, but this looks basically like I think the size should look. Would this be anywhat equivalent or suitable for my project, do you think? I know there's a site somewhere for yarn conversion but I can't find the post. Thanks!

Ah HA.... I have found my answer finally, so nevermind! It's a size 3 (and discontinued). Which is good, since it's bigger, since I'm supposed to use a double strand but only have 1 ball of it.
