Question
Sakkasie
This pattern was for the weekend of March 4-5th. In the picture it looks like tiny blocks of white are framed by blue. It's a very pretty afghan so I decided to get the yarn and start working it up.
The instructions for the 2 row repeat are as follows:
Row 2: With B (in my case, white) ch 3, (sk 1 sc, 3 dc in next ch-2 sp, ch 1) rep to end of row, end ch 1, 1 dc in last st.
Row 3: With A (in my case, rose) 1 sc in turning ch at beg of row, (ch 2, sk 3 dc, 1 sc in next ch-1 sp), rep to end of row.
Basically you do the row first in the white, then go back to the beginning of the row, pick up the rose and crochet back across the top of the white. My problem is, is that I'm not getting "frames." I'm getting little blotches of rose only where I do the "Row 3 sc in next ch-1 sp." So I have big clumps of white yarn and little clumps of rose yarn, nothing at all like the picture.
I've tried to figure out where I'm going wrong but I'm stumped. If anyone has this pattern, could you take a look at it and tell me if it's me or the pattern?
Thanks so very, very much.
