Having senior moment!

I am trying to remember how to do a pattern similar to the granny square but in rows not rounds. Please help.

Row 1: Do your CH, then work 1DC into the 4th CH from the hook and into the next 2CH, *CH1, SK next CH, 1DC into each of the next 3 CH.* Repeat * to * to the width you want, ending with CH1, 1DC into last CH. CH3 turn.

 

Row 2: 2DC into CH 1 SP (Where the CH3 sits), *CH1, 3DC into next CH1 SP* Repeat *to * to end working the last DC into the 3rd of the CH. CH4, turn.

 

Row 3: 3DC into CH1 SP, *CH1, 3DC into next CH1 SP,* Repeat * to * then CH1, 1DC into top of turning CH. CH 3turn.

 

Repeat rows 2 & 3 to the length you want, changing colours as you want to.

 

Hope I have this right as it is early in the morning, well for me it is, so I am not seeing so good. I am not a morning person.

I will look in again later to check what I have written.
