Question

My young daughter asked me to make her a ponchette with an open front almost like a bolero and a collar, I found a pattern I like but it doesn't have a collar, and I can't find a pattern with a collar, if someone can suggest where I could find a pattern for something like that or even just a patter for a detached collar I think I could work it, I am always changing patterns and making my own version of things. Help!!:think Please

Thanks for replying, no I don't have a picture, I am doing it out my daughter's idea, the collar will be a regular type like a shirt collar. I appreciate any input.

you can make your own collar without a pattern.

You could use a dc ribbing for the collar.Like this

Row 1:join the yarn where you want the collar to be, ch 2 or 3, dc around the collar area, ch 2 or 3 turn,

Row 2:(front post double crochet around the next st , back post dc around the next stitch) and repeat til last st, dc in last st, ch2 or 3 and turn

Row 3...: these rows is the same row 2, just make sure your stitches line up,

so ... make sure if the row below has the dc behind do a back post dc, and if it is in front do a fpdc.

You could also just add any sort of edging you like as a collar.
