Warning! Ocean Cardigan

Hi everyone!

 

Hope everyone had a nice Thanksgiving!

 

I picked the ocean cardigan pattern as my first sweater pattern for myself as it said it was for beginner's. While I was making it, it seemed big to me but being my first sweater I thought it would be fine after I assembled it.

 

I followed the directions for a size large, but the sweater is probably an extra large or a 1X even.

 

So needless to say, my Mom will be getting it for Xmas.

 

I will post a pic after I finish it.

well...you can certianly say its "Oceanic" in size... yeah...bad joke.

 

bet your gauge was too big. congrats on finishing your first sweater though! i am way not ready to try something like that. once you do a few more you'll probably get a better eye for what works and what wont.

No gauge was perfect 3 rows=1 inch. Nice thought though.

That happened to me once. I followed the pattern exactly, gauge was right on. half way through it it was very obvious that the size was small, so i frogged it and went up a hook, no go. after frogging three time and going up one hook size each time and the size was still too small, i gave up.
