Question

I a attempting to crochet a Baby BLanket Lamb Huggy

https://www.swecraftcorner.com/free-crochet-pattern-baby-blanket-lamb-huggy/

I am onto the blanket section

It states: with cozy yarn and 6mm hook

ch 74,

Row 1. In the third ch from the hook make 1dc,  then 1dc in each st across (72) ch 2 turn

I don't understand how I can end up with (72) if I have been decreasinng in each st across

Thank you in advance for your help.

Hi Nicole,

You are not decreasing in the directions.  The dc is a double crochet.  So you are going to do 1 double crochet in the third stitch from the hook then 1 double crochet in each stitch across till the end.  Then you make your chain 2, turn and in each stitch make a double crochet.  Repeat until row 44.

I just erased what I typed, which was exactly what Lacy Crochet said as I was typing.  Decrease is often abbreviated dec in patterns, never dc.
