help with pattern

I am learning to crochet and need help understanding a pattern. The pattern says:

 

Ch 3, 2 dc in ring, ch 2[3 dc, ch2] 3 times in ring; join with slip st in top of beginning ch - 4 corner ch2-spaces.

 

I do not understand what the last part means (4 corner ch2-spaces).

 

Help would be greatly appreciated!!!

that means that you now have 4 corners with chain 2 in them. Hope this helps you.

That is the count at the end of your round. This way you know if you did that round right. Go back and count the stitches (whatever it is telling you to count...in your case it would be the four corners of ch-2's)
