Unclear instructions

The pattern says:

Round 6: 7 sc (7)

Round 7: 1 invdec (6)

Rounds 8-10: 6 sc (6)

Where do I begin round 8? On the decrease stitch or the next stitch?

When working in the round in a spiral, always put a stitch marker in your first stitch, because doing so would have answered your question. (bobby pins make great stitch markers, they are cheap and stay put fairly well.  Or some people like to use a short length of contrasting scrap yarn)

This pattern is not clear, it does not tell you where to put the invdec in round 7.  Where did you put it? if you made it the first stitch of round 6, then that decrease is the first stitch of the round 8.
