Help getting started

Hey, I was wondering if anyone would be able to help me get this pattern started, up to round 3 would be most helpful. I found it online and there doesn't appear to be any written "to get started" type of instructions and I can't really match any of the symbols with symbol indexes I've seen that make sense. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Some European chart symbols differ a little from US.  In my experience, the dots are chains, the | are SC and the t are DC (using US terms).  I believe the ^  (except curved, not pointy) is a slip stitch, not 100% positive on that one, but suspect that is a reasonable guess because it looks like the starting points of rounds keep 'scooting over'--I've had written doily patterns tell you to end a round and then scoot over either to the left or right of where the last round started, to start a new round, so not unheard of.
