Reading a pattern

I'm working a pattern, and I'm not sure what these instructions mean:

 

"Sc, ch 5, [sc] across the chs, sc into the next st, 6 sc".

It looks like they mean to make a sc, then chain 5, then sc and chain 5 in each stitch across.  What pattern is this from?

It's a patten to make the tail of a Pokémon amigurum.

to me it is confusing, without being able to see the rest of the pattern or a photo.  What is the name and location of the pattern?  

 

"Sc, ch 5, [sc] across the chs, sc into the next st, 6 sc"

I think what you should do is make an sc in the previous row, then chain 5, then sc into those chains, which will make a little tail like shape, then sc into the previous row again.  since it says the stitch count should be 6 sc, I guess they want you to use the last of the 5 chains as your turning chain, and make 4 sc into the remaining chains.
