Question

Hi. I am trying to make these slipper boots for my husband.

http://www.smpcraft.com/free-projects/freebie-friday-cozy-crocheted-slipper-boots/

The pattern is written for a 9 1/2 inch womans foot. My husbands foot is 11 5/8 inches long and 10 3/4 inches around the ball of the foot, and around his ankle is 10 inches but his heel is kinda narrow. At the end of the pattern it says you can increase or decrease the size by adding or subtracting 2 chains and 2 stitches as needed, but I'm not sure where to add them.

If anyone will help me I would appreciate it so much! I have never made any shoes, only washcloths and simple blanket. I am so frustrated. I have tried 4 times and had to take it all out and start over.

Thank you for any help!

Have a great day!

I think It would be easier to start with a man's slipper pattern; it might be easy to create a sole that fits him, but a bigger foot isn't just longer and wider in outline (like cutting out a flat Dr. Scholl's foot insert to fit a shoe size), it's also bigger over the top of the foot, around the ankle, etc.  You will need to redesign the whole thing, and keep copious notes of your complete redesign so the other slipper matches.

Here's a free pattern for a slipper boot that goes up to the measurement you need, and looks similar to your pattern

A sort on free men's slipper patterns of various styles, not quite like yours

Thank you so much for responding granny square! I think you are correct that I would basically be redesigning the entire shoe! I have shown him so many patterns and this is the only one he said he wanted me to make for him. That's why I wanted to know that I had tried all options before giving up on it.

Thank you again! Have a great day!
