Problem understanding pattern

I am making a top in fan stitch, which is wider at the top.

 

The pattern says:

 

"Work inc rows 1-4 and rows 2-5 of stitch pattern without shaping a further 4 times."

 

Does this mean a) I repeat both 4 times i.e. 1-4, 2-5, 1-4, 2-5, 1-4, 2-5, 1-4, 2-5 

 

or does it mean b) I just repeat the last part 4 times i.e 1-4, 2-5, 2-5, 2-5, 2-5

it would help greatly to know what specific pattern this is---let us know the pattern name and location.

 

i assume it means your A, but I am not certain.

The pattern is called vintage-style embroidered top from a UK book called Learn to Crochet, Love to Crochet.

 

I think I took one line out of context but I re-read it and it makes more sense now.

 

Work inc rows 1-4

Work rows 2-5 of stitch pattern without shaping a further 4 times

Work inc rows 1-4 and rows 2-5 of stitch pattern without shaping a further 4 times

Work inc rows 1-4 once more

Work rows 2-5 of stitch pattern without shaping a further 3 times

 

So I think it is b)?

Hmmm, it probably is B.   I think it is very confusing the way it is written!  They should have made it more clear.

That is confusing!  Does the top's picture help?  Does it look like it slowly increases or is there a lot of increasing in the middle?  If the picture doesn't help make the decision, my guess is the same as Kathy's ... B.
