Framing a doily?

Just finished a 9 x 12 doily with name and date for a wedding gift. Should I block and stiffen it before matting and framing?? Thanks

Block, yes. You might want to stiffen it a bit (or a lot). It's really a matter of personal preference. I recently had a filet name doily framed and bought stiffener but ultimately decided I didn't want it to be super stiff. I ended up just using a little hairspray.
