Knight doll Inside Crochet Issue 69

DMC1839

Question

Hi

I am having a problem with this pattern.  I have made the arms and legs and attached the legs to the torso and I am stuck on round 26 of body and head onwards.

The pattern says "From now on some rounds will not be complete rounds or may be more than one round"

The rounds before are 36 stitches.

Round 26  26 dec - 26 stitches (you have now passed the side part of the belly

Round 27 [12dc, dc2tog, 2dc, dc2tog] twice - 32dc

Round 28 [10dc, dc2tog, 2dc, dc2tog] twice - 28dc

Round 29 11dc then attach arm

My question is do I carry on round 27 immediately after round 26 i.e. stitch 27 and then round 28 in the next stitch after the end of round 27 and so on- if not what do I do?

Also when I get to the attach arm stage I am in the middle of the torso not at the side.

I know this is not much to go on but I would be grateful if someone could help me as I have exhausted all other avenues.  Thanks:) Dawn

welcome to the ville!

I don't have the magazine and I can't visualize it at all based on the written directions...I would hope the magazine includes some photos of it in progress!

Did you try contacting the magazine, or the designer?

Frustrating when you can't get a response for help on a paid pattern!

Not sure how you contated the designer, she gives some contact info on Ravelry http://www.ravelry.com/people/anneliesbaes

She has a group there too http://www.ravelry.com/groups/vicarno  there's a thread where the doll pattern was in testing but most of that is in Dutch.

On round 26, your post says "26 dec", should that be 26 dc?    I think this is a short row where you only work into 26 of the stitches, then turn and work back for the next round.  Looks like round 27 is not a short row because there would be 4 decreases and that would take the total stitch count for the round to 32, which fits with the stitch count on round 25 being 36 sts.  I would try that and see if you are then in the right place to attach the arm in round 29.

Is this it?

to me you just keep going around for each rnd. After you've done the rnd start the next even though

you aren't always in the same beg etc.

Round 26 26 dec - (you have now passed the side part of the belly

then do Round 27 [12dc, dc2tog, 2dc, dc2tog] twice - 32dc

then do [10dc, dc2tog, 2dc, dc2tog] twice - 28dc

then do 11dc attach arm
