Bath Puffs for co workers..what yarn is best?

melindascrochetbits

Question

I always thought that cotton yarn was best to use with anything that would be getting wet...and then I searched the internet and found out otherwise!

During my research I have discovered that cotton yarn is the worst yarn to use for bath puffs/loofahs due to mildew! What are your thoughts?

I had planned on making my co workers a gift set for Christmas using cotton yarn but not so sure if that's a good idea anymore.

What yarn can I use that will be soft on the skin but will dry faster than cotton?

Thanks in advance for your help!

Kim Guzman (CrochetKim) offers a link for nylon thread she uses for her scrubbies that I've also used. They work great and dries out much easier than cotton.

One Christmas I crocheted sets of 3 spa cloths, a special bar of handmade soap and a nylon scrubby. But, I purchased the scrubby for $1 for from Wal-Mart. It was much more economical and saved tons of time to make other things.
