Working a chart?

ammorgan

Question

I have a square pattern here that has a chart (Baby Blocks by Jan Eaton) and it has 4 sc of one color, then 4 sc of another color.  When I look in the back of the book it suggests stranding, which when I looked it up I would think would look rather messy on both sides of the square, correct me if I'm wrong, or show me how yours looks please?  :)

I started doing it and was carrying the color I wasn't using along and doing the single crochet over top of the not in use color, but that showed through in a few spots as well.

Any suggestions?

Some people don't mind the look of the other color showing through, it looks sort of 'woven'.

Another alternative would be to make little bobbins for each color, which could be a pain since you'd have a jillion ends to weave in.

if this is for a blanket, some people line their blankets with fabric to cover up the 'bad' side of colorwork.  You can do this fairly easily, google 'how to tie a quilt' for ideas.
