Help with bag design

pippi_longstockings

Question

Hello :)

I need help with a bag design. I tried to make a bag similar to this one but I did not like it. What I realize about this bag I like vs my bag is the stitches, size and shape. I recognize this bag is an oversized slouchy beanie. But I cannot find any oversized slouchy beanie pattern that is similar to this bag. Also, I can't identify the stitches, is it treple or double or something else? And lastly, how do you get the bottom of the bag to look like this because my bag bottom does not look like this. Fyi, these are handmade crochet bags. Also, I know I asked abou making this bag in another help forum. But now I am asking different questions.

Looking at other patterns for this 'fat bottom' style, they are mostly not made like a beanie, and I suspect your sample isn't either.  It looks like DC, ch 2 but stitches are vertical, made at right angles to the bag opening.

Here is the original fat bottom bag from the book - this is shallower than your sample, but otherwise a very similar shape

Another, this one is free (not mesh, also not completely closed on the side like your sample and the one I linked above, but might give you ideas.)

edit, another one
