Question

Hello,

I'm a newbie when it comes to crochet and I was having a lot of trouble with the Navajo Indian blanket, but I came across a very similar pattern in an old magazine, (I've attached the pattern), which for some unknown reason I seem to understand.
It's called Country stripes and my question is for rows 9 & 10.
"continue in same manner always moving long st over 1 st."
What exactly do they mean by always moving over 1 st? Which way?
Left or right? Do I move over every single row?

Thanks for any help.

Charl

That's a good question. It looks like the long stitch comes after a dc and a dc in row 7. Next it comes after a single dc in row 8, so I would continue to work it in that manner for row 9(like 7) and for row 10( like 8). The long stitches would be a stitch apart which is what I think the pattern means by always moving over a stitch and my understanding would be to do these to rows, switching your colors.
