Alla Koval fluffy clouds blanket

Hi!!!

Has anyone tried making the Alla Koval fluffy clouds blanket. No matter what i do, for some odd reason it is coming out diagonally, and it's really begining to bug me. Please help me!!!!

By the picture of that blanket it looks to me like the pattern is diagonal.

I think so too!! But when I e-mailed her about it she said that its supposed to come out a straight square.

Oh, do you mean that it is not square shaped? 

The only reason I can think of for that is that you are not starting and ending your rows correctly. With sc, you work into the first stitch, that it the stitch that the turning chain is in. You work the last real stitch and not the turning chain at the end of the row.

With the other bigger stitches, you do not work the stitch that the turning chain is in, and you work the last stitch of the row, into the turning chain of the previous row.

If you don't you will end up with a parallelogram, always leaning to one side.

If this is the problem, use a stitch marker in the top of the turning chain as you do it, so that when you get to the end of row, you will know where to make the last stitch.

Well it looks similar to what I am working on now.  It starts at the point but then will eventually come out square so maybe that is what she means by square.  I am doing this one, it's a sideways shell but it starts at the point.  Mary
