square help

I am trying out a square for this afghan.

Rnd. 3 doesn't make sense to me. It says hdc in the next hdc, dc in the space before the next hdc, hdc in the next hdc. But as you can see from Rnd. 2 there is no space between the hdcs.

I hope I can explain it easily. You would do the hdc between the two hdc's. Usually a stitch is done in the next stitch, this is done between the two stitches, even though it doesn't look like there is a space. Hope that helps.

Ok I see now! Thanks! I knew how to do it with dcs. I just couldn't figure it out with hdcs.
