About the Pattern:

12 Shawls in 2012: August

Named for crochet legend, Margaret Hubert, this shawl is very versatile. I have shown it styled in three different ways, but use your own imagination. I named this after Margaret because she taught me a very small freeform embellishment using a reverse single crochet, which forms a very attractive ridge on the front side of the work. My brain exploded the idea into a shawl, and that is how “Margaret” was born. This design makes excellent use of the Red Heart Boutique yarn, “Unforgettable”, as it really shows off the long color changes. Enjoy!

Materials:

RED HEART® Boutique™ Unforgettable™ (100% Acrylic; 279 yds/ 256m/100g/ 3.5 oz), Color: #3960 Tidal- 3 skeins

Size I/9-5.50mm crochet hook (or size needed for gauge)

Tapestry Needle

Finished Measurements:

blocked: 10 ½" wide by 80" long (on shorter, non-scalloped edge)

Gauge:

If gauge is critical to this project, it is best to work a small sc swatch of approximately 20 st (i.e. ch 22, sc in 3rd ch from hook and work 20 rows); this will yield a gauge of 13 sc and 16 rows = 4".
